The MBBS degree is recognized as per Gazette Lr.No.U.12012/111/2000-ME(P-II) dated June 9, 2008, with confirmation via Letter No. MCI-34(41)2007-/28718 dated June 13, 2012. MCI granted permission to increase seats from 100 to 150 from the 2012-13 academic year, with subsequent renewals in 2013 and 2019. The Vice Chancellor of Dr. NTRUHS granted admission permission for 150 students in the 2013-14 academic year, with recognition for the increased intake by KNRUHS in 2019.

MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), established in 2001-2002 by SHARE MEDICAL CARE FOUNDATION, is located in Ghanpur, Medchal-Malkajgiri District, Telangana. The institute, spanning 40 acres within the 200-acre MediCiti Campus, is affiliated with the 720-bed MediCiti Hospital. MIMS started operations in 2002-2003 with an intake of 100 students and received MCI permission for its first batch in August 2002. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, recognized MIMS for awarding MBBS degrees from 2007, with confirmation in June 2012.

MediCiti Hospital Ghanpur, initially with 360 beds, now has 720 beds, including 50 ICU beds, with plans to increase to 500 by its fifth year. Postgraduate programs were launched in 2009, with 50 students annually in each department. MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), founded in 2001-2002, is located in Ghanpur, Telangana, on a 40-acre site within the 200-acre MediCiti campus. It is backed by SHARE MEDICAL CARE FOUNDATION, a Section 8 Company, and aims to foster excellence in medical education and community service.

A 300-bed multi-specialty hospital, operational since 1992, was attached to MIMS to establish a full-fledged teaching college under Dr. NTR Health University. The first batch of 100 students was admitted on October 17, 2002, with MCI's approval. In 2024, MIMS celebrates 22 years with 750 UG students, 150 PG students, and over 1,000 faculty and staff. The hospital serves 1,200-1,300 OP daily, providing affordable and subsidized care.

For Rule (G.O Ms No 129 ‘Allotment of seats’), the following is substituted: Seats in each unaided non-minority professional institution shall be allotted for admissions as per these categories.
